LAWRENCE–Distractions led to a two-car accident, leaving one in the hospital. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kayleigh Schneider, 20, from Lawrence, was driving Northbound on US-59 when she was distracted by papers blowing out the window. Schneider crossed over into the southbound lane and struck Karmen Zabala, 42 of Baldwin. Zabala was not injured, however, Schneider was sent to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where her condition is unknown. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon.
