GARNETT — The Anderson County courthouse has seen two recent changes in leadership. Planning and zoning director Tom Young has resigned. He said he plans to stay in the area but that he will take a temporary job out-of-state in the nuclear power industry. Mike Durdee of Paola is the new county appraiser. Previously, Durdee was a residential valuation specialist in the Johnson County appraiser’s office. He succeeds Gary Stapp, who became Lyon County appraiser.
