MELVERN — Four women were taken to Coffey County Hospital in Burlington following a two-vehicle crash on I-35 south of Melvern Monday afternoon. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Tina White, 47, Kansas City; was driving south in the right-hand lane of I-35 when she tried to change lanes. She hit the rear bumper of a vehicle driven by Tyler Haase, 19, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., who was going south in the left-hand lane, troopers said. Both cars went out of control. White’s car ended up on its top in the median. Haase’s car ended up in the ditch. White was taken to the hospital and as were three of her passengers –Jacqueline Bell, 50, Wichita; Bonita Holley, 94, Wichita; and Barbara Banks, 53, Wichita. Haase wasn’t injured.
