More bad guys out there trying to scam money from you and , mess up your phone in the process. The Ottawa Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Offices is reporting a texting scam involving the Department of Motor Vehicles, or DMV.
The text comes to your phone, appearing to actually be from the DMV. It has a message, calling you by name and saying you have pending renewal fees. It provides a link for you click. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK!!! It is span and attempting to open the link will cause severe damage to your phone.
Law Enforcement is asking that if you get such a message, contact them, or simply delete it.
