The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for State highway construction and maintenance projects. The bidding took place recently in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.
A major lighting project, scheduled for Franklin County is included. The I-35 and U. S. 59 interchange will be getting a new lighting system. The cost of the project is estimated at nearly $270,000 and will be constructed by Cooper Construction, LLC, out of Emporia. No word on when that project will begin.
