The cost of jail supplies are going up, but not necessarily for reasons you would normally expect. Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards was reviewing his budget requests for the next fiscal year. He says part of it involves cleaning supplies:
Richards says changing to the non-harmful chemicals might, down the road, prevent some lawsuits in case an inmate got sick or died from drinking a chemical.
