As the temperature goes up, so does the risk of heat stroke, particularly in children that are left in hot cars. Whether it’s by accident, or they are playing and get trapped, hot car deaths are a big risk. Britt Zweygardt tells us more:
In Kansas, 12 children have died in hot cars in the past two deades, with the most recent occurring when two Kanss children died in 2019.
Fifty one percent of child hot car deaths in vehicles were caused by adults forgetting the children. Twenty nine percent of victims were playing in an unattended vehicle.
