WELLSVILLE — A Wellsville teen was taken to a Kansas City hospital following a one-car crash Monday night in Douglas County two miles north of Wellsville. The Kansas Highway Patrol said that William Qualls Jr., 17, Rantoul; was driving west on North 100 Road when he lost control of his car on the gravel road. His car hit a utility pole. Chelsie O’Conner, 14, Wellsville; was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, troopers said. Qualls and another passenger, Kayla St. Denis, 14, Wellsville; may have received possible injuries, troopers said. There was no record of them being hospitalized. Troopers said they were wearing seat belts.
