The Miami County Sheriff’s Department says the shooting victim found in a ditch at 299th and Somerset Sunday evening has been identified and has died of her injuries. Forty one-year-old Jennifer Rodriguez died yesterday, January 4th, of the injuries she suffered after being shot by 36-year-old John Gray of Grandview, Missouri. Grandview police found Gray in his home Tuesday, dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation indicates that he and Rodriguez left his home in Grandview Sunday and drove to Miami County where the shooting occurred. He then dumped her body from his truck near 299th and Somerset Road. No further details on the case will be released at this time.
