OTTAWA — It’s somewhat of a long shot, but Ottawa wants to cash in on the federal stimulus program. The Ottawa City Commission applied to the Kansas Department of Transportation for funding three projects. Commissioners said the most important would be resurfacing K-68 between Davis Road and I-35. City Manager Richard Nienstadt says the competition will be stiff. The city expects to hear by March 20 whether it will get any money, he said.
