OSAGE CITY — A 30-year-old Ottawa man was killed in a traffic accident early Sunday morning in Osage County. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Javier Rodriguez was taken to a hospital where he later died. Rodriguez wasn’t wearing a safety restraint. A Hummer H2 driven by Ruben Callejas, Osage City was going west on K-31 just west of Leweling Road when it crossed the center line and went into the south ditch shortly after midnight, troopers said. The Hummer hit a street sign and then a dirt embankment and flipped several times and ended upside down. Callejas and a passenger, Luis Sanchez, may have received some injuries. Troopers said they were wearing safety restraints.
