OTTAWA — Winter wheat in east central Kansas has been rated as mostly fair to good. Kansas Agricultural Statistics said the wheat is more mature now than compared to the same time last year and is much more mature than the five-year average. Because of rains that have soaked Miami and Franklin counties in recent weeks, soil moisture for wheat is rated adequate or better for east central Kansas.
