OTTAWA — The Marais des Cygnes River at Ottawa will be above flood stage through Wednesday morning. The Kansas Geological Survey said the river was slightly above 31 feet shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday. Flood stage is 31 feet. The National Weather Service said the river will reach 32 feet this afternoon and fall below flood stage Wednesday morning. The flood warning for Ottawa goes through Wednesday night. Lowlands along the river near Ottawa will be flooded through Wednesday. Flood warnings for Pottawatomie Creek at Lane and Scipio will remain in effect through Wednesday evening as well.
