OTTAWA — The National Weather Service has reissued flood warnings for Franklin County in the wake of heavy rains falling on saturated ground today. The Marais des Cygnes River fell below flood stage at Ottawa early this morning but expected to begin rising again. Flood warnings were posted farther down the river in Miami County. A flood warning for Pottawatomie Creek at Lane will remain in effect through Thursday morning. With forecasts for more rain today through the weekend, the area is under a flash-flood watch.
