OTTAWA — Ottawa’s South Star Chrysler has made the cut. Owner Bill Pedersen said he received a letter Thursday from Chrysler that his dealership is on a list of those the company wants to keep. Pedersen said he thought his dealership would make the list because of its sales volume, because it carries all three Chrysler lines – Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep – and because the Ottawa dealership is one of few in the area. But he said he had still had his fingers crossed. Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy two weeks ago and is cutting its number of dealerships as part of its reorganization. Chrysler is trying to work out a deal to join Italian car-maker Fiat. Check KOFO’s Web site for a list of those Kansas dealerships that are being cut loose by Chrysler.
