OTTAWA — A local group called Partners in Policy-Making is trying to get the city and local businesses to change the signs on Parking stalls throughout Ottawa. Partners member Stephanie King said her group wants to Remove the words “handicapped” or “disabled” removed from The wheelchair signs and leave signs with only the wheelchair symbol. Use of the words handicapped and disabled are offensive, she said. The city has been cooperative in working with the group, she said.
