OTTAWA — Blasting has begun to break up buried rock along the Douglas County part of the new U.S. 59. The Kansas Department of Transportation said blasting will go through late June during daylight hours. Blasting will be a bout a half-mile east of the existing U.S. 59 and aquarter-mile north of 500 Road in Douglas County. KDOT said the blasting won’t affect traffic
