OTTAWA — Two Ottawa University athletes have received All-American honors from the NAIA. OU senior long distance runner Justin Garrard made the most of his last race as an OU Brave and finished sixth in the marathon at the NAIA outdoor track and field national championship on Saturday. He was also named an NAIA All-American.
Garrard set six OU long-distance records. Braves pitcher Eric Cordell has been named honorable mention NAIA All-American. Cordell, from Holton, finished the season at 8-5 and set the school record with 107 strikeouts in one season. He signed a professional contract with the minor-league River City Rascals of the Independent Frontier League.
