OTTAWA — A national travel chain has filed preliminary paperwork with Ottawa to build a truck and travel center south of the city. A Love’s Travel Center and Country Store would be built southeast of the interchange at I-35 and U.S. 59. Assistant city planner Tom Yahl said the company and city will go over the filings. It would be at least August before any public hearings are scheduled on the proposal, he said. Love’s would be the first of two likely truck and travel stops at Ottawa. City officials expect that another company could build another stop at I-35 and K-68.
