OSAWATOMIE – A 59-year-old Garnett man was killed when his pickup drove off U.S. 169 into the Marais des Cygnes River at Osawatomie this morning. The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the driver as David Evans. The Highway Patrol said Evans was northbound on U.S. 169 when his truck left the roadway and went into the center median and drove into the river shortly after 6 a.m. today.
