At 9:35 this morning a man was reported to have walked into City Hall with a riffle, police confirmed that the suspect didn’t enter City Hall, but walked by the building. Police Officers and Sherrif Deputies quikly responded and evacuated the building. Everyone evacuated the building safely while armed officers searched th building. Ottawa Chief of Police Dennis Butler says they searched the building twice and found no gunman. Witnesses described the man as a white male, wearing a baseball cap and a sleeveless shirt. Police are still searching for the man, but there is no evidence that the man committed a crime since it is legal to carry a gun in Ottawa.
