Franklin county commissioners received the County audit for 2008 at their study session this morning at the county annex building. Auditor, Rodney Burns, reported only minor items found during the audit that effects where the 2009 budget is today. One item of note was that the county received over $500,000 in federal aid during 2008. Chairman Ed Taylor commented that he thought the results went pretty smooth and items caught were minor. Auditors had previously met with county administrator Lisa Johnson and she had already put into effect procedures to correct most concerns that were brought up by the audit. The contract for the 2009 audit will be on the agenda for Wednesdays meeting. It has been submitted with no increase in cost.
