BALDWIN CITY — The hardest part of winning the lottery for a Baker University student was getting his parents to believe him. Zachary Towns, 22, Baldwin City, bought a Scrabble instant scratch ticket worth $25,000 at the Kwik Stop in Baldwin City. He said his parents didn’t believe him at first when he called to announce he won. When they saw the ticket, they offered to drive him to Topeka to lottery headquarters to get his check. He says he’ll save the money. He graduates from Baker in December.
