GARNETT — Anderson County’s victim-witness coordinator Paris Stahl has resigned her post. Her last day is today. She told the Anderson County Review that the uncertainty surrounding her position and budget reductions made the position untenable. Stahl helped guide the victims of crimes and witnesses through the confusing labyrinth of the district court system during criminal prosecutions. The position was created by former county attorney Fred Campbell in 2006 with the aid of a state grant. The grant money ran out September but county commissioners funded the position until October 1, when new federal grant awards are announced. Stahl said filling the position on would be up to the county attorney’s office if the county gets another grant.
