OTTAWA — This morning, the Ottawa City Commission honored city employees who have been promoted or took new training since July 1. Larry Matile was promoted to street superintendent, Justin McCurdy to assistant street superintendent, Jeremy Brockus to public works heavy equipment operator, Barb Nelson to municipal court clerk, and Linda Hopkins to data specialist. Police officer Steven Burkhart recently completed a training course to be an instructor for elder abuse detection.
