GARNETT — If you see the weed, there’s no need to panic. Many kinds of thistle are a noxious weed in Anderson County but the type of thistle popping up in nearly everywhere isn’t. Anderson County weed director Vernon Yoder says roadside thistle has flowered. He told the Anderson County Review that roadside thistle isn’t considered a noxious weed. He says cattle will eat roadside thistle. Yoder said because of the unusually wet, cool conditions this year, all types of thistles have been more abundant this year, he said the weed department has been on the run this year. The best time to spray noxious musk and Canadian thistles is in late October with Tordon 22K.
