BURLINGTON — Federal inspectors are doing a special check at the Wolf Creek nuclear plant near Burlington this week.
Lightning knocked out all three power lines to the plant on Aug. 19, causing an emergency shut-down of the reactor. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said the inspectors will review the incident and how Wolf Creek operators reacted. The NRC said there was no danger to the public. The inspection will continue for several days. The NRC said a report will be written in a little more month and will be posted on its web site.
