OTTAWA — Sheriff Craig Davis said when it’s done, a new wireless network for his department and Ottawa and Wellsville police will be state of the art – and at no expense to county taxpayers. The completion date was rolled back to late spring to wait on a new update to the computer system that is at the heart of the network, he said. Otherwise, the departments might have had to do updates on the system shortly after they completed it, he said. Using a $380,000 federal grant accepted by the county Wednesday, 28 computer terminals will be installed in patrol cars. Davis said officers in the three departments will share a central computer data base and be able to file reports and download information while in their cars.
