TOPEKA — The Silver-Haired Legislature is under way in Topeka this week. The seniors are debating proposals that include changes in the law regarding grandparents as caregivers, affordable transportation system for senior citizens, establishing a veterans’ ombudsman and limits on predatory loans. Their recommdations will be forwarded to the legislature. Area delegates include Bill Butler, Osawatomie; Delton Gilliland, Lyndon; Marjorie Thomas, Garnett, and Betty Scott-Neufeld, Pomona.
