OTTAWA — Franklin County could hire a swine flu czar. County administrator Lisa Johnson said the Franklin County Health Department could get a two-year federal grant to pay for someone to coordinate the county’s response to a major flu outbreak. The health department is under-staffed and doesn’t have the people to handle the details of the anti-flu efforts and the 12,000 to 15,000 does of flu vaccine, she said. Johnson said the position is temporary and once the grant money ends, so does the job. Commissioners will vote on accepting the grant on Wednesday.
