OTTAWA — About 18,000 property tax statements are in the mail. And so are some mortgage information sheets that aren’t bills. County Treasurer Debbie Hough said that may confuse some homeowners. Hough said her office has already gotten some calls about the information sheets. Hough said if you have a mortgage, you will receive an information sheet and your lender receive the tax bill. If you pay your property taxes in two parts, the first-half deadline is Dec. 21. Unlike last year, you’ll have to request receipts.
