EMPORIA — An Emporia State student who has been missing since Sunday was found dead along a Lyon County road north of Emporia. A Lyon county deputy found the body of 24-year-old Samuel Jacob Williams Wednesday afternoon. It appears Williams lost control of his motorcycle at a curve in the road, struck a road sign, and was thrown from the bike. The university said Williams, from the African country of Ivory Coast, was an All-American indoor and outdoor track star for Emporia State. A candlelight vigil for Williams will be at 8 tonight at Welsh Stadium. To attend the vigil, use the west entrance.
