KANSAS CITY MO–If you buy your electricity from Kansas City Power and Light…better get ready to pay more. KCPL has filed a rate increase request with the Kansas Corporation Commission to increase base rates for electric service in its Kansas service area. If approved, the typical residential customer monthly base bill will increase a little over 11 dollars a month. The increase would take effect in October 2010.
