LaCYGNE — A 45-year-old Mound City trucker was taken to Mercy Hospital of Kansas City Monday afternoon when his truck went off the road. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Kevin Amer was driving west on 1000 Road near LaCygne when a front tire dropped off the roadway. Troopers said when Amer tried to pull the truck back onto the road, it veered across the road and hit a bridge guardrail and rolled over in a shallow creek. Amer wasn’t wearing a safety restraint, troopers said.
