The Kansas Corn Growers Association and the Kansas Grain Sorghum Producers Association – both based in Garnett — have joined popular social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Sue Schulte, who works for both farm groups, says the on-line networking sites will allow farmers to talk about farming, biofuels and the hot-button issues that affect them, including the herbicide Atrazine. Going on-line is an easy and innovative way to tell farmers’ stories while defending against many of the activists who use such sites to bash various aspects of American agriculture, she said.
