BALDWIN CITY — The Maple Leaf Festival begins Friday night with a carnival in downtown Baldwin City. The festival cranks up tomorrow morning with a 5K run at the golf course at 8:30 Saturday and the arts and craft show from 9 to 6 downtown and in the grade school. The kiddie parade will be 10:45 Saturday morning with the parade following at 11. There will be the ever-popular food and crafts booths and music both days. History tours include Vinland and the Black Jack battlefield area sites. The historic Midland Railroad will offer train rides between Baldwin City and Nowhere.
