GARNETT — A proposed $14.4 million school bond issue for USD 365 is likely to drive up the turnout today in Anderson County. The Anderson County Clerk’s office told the Anderson County Review that the number of advance votes indicate a heavy turnout.
Molly Hoffman, of the clerk’s office, said that the number of advance votes this year has set a new record. The clerk’s office had received nearly 400 advance votes early Monday morning, more than one-and-half times the previous record. In addition, the county commission District 1 race features three candidates, incumbent Democrat Dean Register, Republican Jim Johnson, and independent Pam Ahring. Statewide, voter turnout is expected to be light.
