TOPEKA – The Kansas Department of Transportation reports that major northeast Kansas highways, bridges and overpasses, are now in good shape for the morning commute. KDOT crews report major highways are treated and are either wet or dry at this point. KDOT said its crews were out during overnight and early this morning treating roads as needed. However, KDOT said morning commuters should be careful on side streets, driveways, sidewalks and those areas that have not been treated because they may still be slick. Drivers should still allow extra time for their drive in to work this morning, KDOT said. You can get updated travel conditions by calling 511 or going on-line at www.KanDrive.org or http//511.ksdot.org.
