WASHINGTON – A total lunar eclipse will be above Franklin County skies early Tuesday morning. The eclipse will be visible across the entire U.S., clear skies permitting, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration said. The eclipse begins Tuesday at 12:33 a.m. At that time, Earth’s shadow will appear as a dark-red bite at the edge of the moon. It takes about an hour for the “bite” to expand and swallow the entire Moon. NASA said the eclipse will become total at 1:41 a.m. and lasts for 72 minutes, with the deepest shadow at 2:17 a.m. However, the forecast calls for overcast skies above Franklin County tonight.
