OTTAWA — An economic development study done by a national urban research group says that on the whole, Ottawa is going a good job. The study by the Boston-based Dukakis Center for Urban Research said Ottawa’s strengths include a good work force, infrastructure, a planning and zoning staff and is faster in moving permits than many cities, and is located on major highways. The city’s weaknesses – a poor Internet and telecommunications network and although Ottawa has a good work force it has a low percentage of highly-educated professionals. Ottawa city commissioners reviewed the report at their study session Monday.
