WASHINGTON — Jerry Moran was officially sworn in Wednesday as the new U.S. senator from Kansas. Moran is the former seven-term Congressman from the “Big First” district, which covers most of the western and central Kansas, and he moves into the seat held by Sam Brownback. Brownback is the new governor. Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins was re-sworn in the U.S. House of Representatives Wednesday to her second term.
