TOPEKA — The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind chill advisory beginning tonight at 10 and running until Wednesday noon. Wind chills could be 15 below to 20 below tonight and between 8 below and 17 below Wednesday night. The American Red Cross said you should take steps to protect yourself. That includes dressing in several layers of lightweight clothing and wearing mittens, a hat and waterproof, insulated boots. Keep vehicle gas tanks full. Take care of pets and if necessary, bring them inside during severely cold weather. Have at a three-day supply of non-perishable food and water. Be aware of carbon monoxide dangers.
