POMONA — There’s another contested race for a school board seat. Curtis Altic and Anna Curtis have both filed for Position 1 of West Franklin USD 287’s school board. Facing the specter of heavy funding cuts from the state, there are few people lining up to run for school boards this year. In West Franklin, only one other person has signed up for the three other positions. There’s only one other contest and that’s for Position 7 in Wellsville USD 289 between incumbent Vicki Bohi and Don Waylon. Three incumbents have filed for the remaining three Wellsville seats. In Central Heights two people have signed for four seats. In ottawa USD 290, three people have signed up for four seats. The deadline to file for city and school board offices is noon Tuesday.
