OSAWATOMIE–If you want to commit a crime in Osawatomie, chances are you’ll get caught. A report from the Osawatomie Police Department says the department last year cleared 80% of all crimes reported. Overall, arrests in 2010 were up by almost 25%, and citations issued went up 19%. Some high points of the report noted that the department assisted with a countywide burglary investigation that resulted in 7 arrests and recovered $50,000 in stolen property. In Februrary, detectives arrested a man in connection with a large narcotics investigation. The suspect was charged with 26 drug-related crimes.
