LAWRENCE — Historian and author Richard Norton Smith will offer his four suggestions for who should be on a new “Mount Rushmore.” As part of this year’s Dole Institute of Politics’ Presidential Lecture Series at Kansas University, instead of the usual rankings of presidents, Smith will talk about why Ronald Reagan, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Woodrow Wilson; should be included if a new Mount Rushmore were to be built. Smith will talk about Ronald Reagan with Dole Institute director Bill Lacy Sunday afternoon at 3 at the Dole Institute. The program is free and open to the public. The public is invited to an open reception after the program at the Lied Center’s Seymour Gallery. The other programs on the other three presidents will be next month.
