OTTAWA — The Ottawa school board will hold a public hearing tonight on a proposal to close Eisenhower Elementary School. The hearing begins tonight at 6:30 at the Ottawa Middle School commons. A school board meeting will follow the hearing, and the board could vote on the school’s fate. Supt. Dean Katt says because of cuts in state school funding, the proposed closing is part of a list of increasingly difficult cuts facing Ottawa. The proposed closing was a major topic in Tuesday night’s candidates forum for the school board race.
