OTTAWA — Today’s Spring Fling begins this morning with a open gym at 8 and dodge ball at 9 at the Don Woodward Center. The first dodge ball session is 9 to 10 for kids in first- through third-grade. Grades 4 to 6 is 10 to 11. Seventh-graders through high school do the dodge from 11 to noon. Musician Alan Cunningham will perform from 10 to 11 at the First Baptist Church. A can of food or non-perishable food item is requested for hope house. Then it’s free lunch time with ham and cheese sandwiches at the church from 11 to 1. Open gym reopens at the Woodward Center from noon to 5. A kickball game for parents and kids will be 12:30 to 2 at Forest Park. For those kids (and parents) who are more artistic than athletic, there is “Arts & Crafts” in the Ottawa Municipal Auditorium basement from 1 to 3. “Tractors, Trucks & More” is 2-4 at Orlis Cox Field and will include displays of a fire truck, McConnell tractors, Builders Choice cement mixers, a semi-truck and other trucks. There will be tennis at Forest Park in three stages — 2-3 for grades K-2; 3-4, grades 3-5; 4-5, grades 6-8. There will be skating at The Rink from 6 to 9 for kids ages 11 and older. The Ottawa Municipal Auditorium will screen a free family movie beginning at 7. One free light bulb will be available per family to support Ottawa’s Take Charge Challenge.
