OTTAWA — Kansas Gas Service will have to lay a new high-pressure natural gas line to the new county juvenile detention center at Second and Beech. The present low-pressure line that served Neosho County Community College isn’t big enough to serve a new juvenile center, said Anthony Cellitti, of the utility. During the winter, the strain could be enough to interrupt service during the winter. The utility will split the costs of laying a new line to the site with the county. Commissioners will meet Thursday afternoon as the public building commission and then hold a special county commission meeting immediately afterwards to sell bonds to build the new detention center.
