PARKER — Robert Tyson is a retired airline pilot and a former state senator. Now that he’s retired, he ranches near Parker on the original family spread. The newest addition to his resume – author. His new book “Frontier Life of the Prairie’ tells the story of his great-grandfather Jim Tyson. He writes that when Jim Tyson came to Kansas from England “There was no law west of Kansas, and west of Fort Scott, no God.” Jim Tyson lived through the Bleeding Kansas and Civil War in Linn County, the Great Influenza epidemic and Great Depression.
