OTTAWA — Next year will be boom time in the kindergarten room in Ottawa schools.
Supt. Dean Katt says he’s expecting a record number of kindergartners. Ottawa kindergarten roundup attracted 208 children, an all-time record, he said. Katt said he’s expecting to add another full kindergarten class in the fall. Each of the classes will have about 20 students each. Katt said he tries to keep the number of kindergarten students per teacher as low as possible and 20 is a good per-class number.
